Based on the experiences gained within RomABC goes Europe project, we drafted the new RomABC project by taking into account the following aspects:

• many Roma people who did not finalized their mandatory studies want to continue the studies in other form, as example, The Second Chance Program;
• it is an increasingly need for digital alphabetization of adult Roma people;
• the classical programs dedicated to alphabetize other people categories do not work or work with poor results when are applied to Roma;
• for having successful, the Programs dedicated for combating illiteracy among Roma have to be tailored as better as possible to this target group.

The most important objectives of the project are the following:

• increasing  the number of digital literated Roma adults;
• increasing the employment capacity of Roma people and, as a consequence, improving their level of social integration;
• increasing the skills of teachers (from a technical, methodological, personal and social, multicultural point of view) in implementing digital literacy courses for adult Roma;
• improving interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of Roma digital literacy.

Here are, the learning, teaching and training events in our project

1. Introductory Training
        presentation of the main lines of the project;
2. Pilot Training
     three member staff of the NGOs partners and one member of the school institutions involved in the project will become school mediators for Roma communities;
3. Testing Phase
        ten Roma and non-Roma adults will be involved in the testiong phase of the project in order to confirm the procedures of increasing the digital literacy among Roma and non-Roma;

The target – group of the project include Roma and non-Roma people, such as: 

– teachers who work with Roma adult people;
– education and social mediators;
– adult Roma and non-Roma people.

The main intellectual outputs developed within the project are:

Drafting the Basis Curricula for increasing the digital literacy level of Roma people in the four Roma communities involved in the project

Drafting the Quality Standards for the application in digital alphabetisation measures for Roma people

Drafting the Coordination Concept including building-up and  establishment of local Networks Basic Education which include local stakeholders in the education field
